Halloween is coming so when I saw these I thought I’ll order these and wear them for Halloween.  I’m allergic to something in porcelain nails so artificial plastic ones or just fingernail polish are the only options available to me.   

So I gathered everything together.  These nails came with a small emery board and both the adhesive backed tape and glue.  I made sure my fingernails were clean before applying anything.   I tried my first nail on using the double sided tape.   As I was figuring out what nail to apply to what finger next the fingernail with the double sided tape came off.  So I then decided to try out the glue which to me looked like regular super glue.  I was a little scared due to all my allergies but I decided I had enough counter measures available to me here at the house that I could counter whatever might happen so I went for it.  

The fake nails seemed either just a tad too big for my fingers or just a tad too small for my fingers.  But I found a size I thought would be appropriate for each finger and glued them on.   Finally all fingers done. 

I didn’t have them on for an hour yet before the fake fingernails started falling off.   

It was at this point I decided I would take the rest of them off.  The ones that didn’t just fall off or that I couldn’t just pop off I soaked in fingernail polish remover.  That process didn’t take very long.  The fingernails literally shredded and melted away in the remover. 

I ended up giving the rest of the fake fingernails to my niece.  To me these are not extraordinary fake fingernails, but the kind and variety that you can find in any drug store or retail store.

Again I was browsing around and came upon this product and again not reading the measurements I thought these would be a lot bigger than they actually are.    I thought they would be big enough to contain all the cords under the computer desk.  These clips definitely are not big enough for that purpose.  That being said I do like these little clips.  They are small enough they can be put anywhere and be out of sight.  They also have a sticky backing where you can adhere them to any surface.  I have one on the leg of my kitchen table to keep my laptop cord away from my rolling chair.  I took one clip and attached it to my husband’s night stand to keep the cord on his CPap Machine from falling on the floor and dragging the whole machine down with it.  I then put one clip on the top of the computer desk to keep the speaker wires together and out of the way.  The more I look around the more I find a use for these clips.  In the case of the speaker wires I was able to put three wires into one clip so the clips can hold more than one wire if the wires are not to wide.  So overall while the clips didn’t fit the purpose for which I bought them they did fit another need and I am very pleased with them.

Vent Cleaner- 4 stars

While shopping and browsing around online I chanced upon this vent cleaner.  The picture showed this product cleaning the vents in a car.  Knowing my car has never been detailed or cleaned since I’ve had it I thought why not give this a try.    

So I tested the brush/bristles first around the plate where the stick shift is.  While it did brush away some of that dust/dirt most of my dirt was stuck in place. 

 I think maybe the brush would work better after the area you intend to work on has been moistened by water or whatever cleaner you intend to use.  The vent cleaner portion of the tool worked very well on the car air vents.   And it goes a good ways up into the vent.  I didn’t realize how dirty car vents could get.  I then did a little further reading and saw that it said it could also work on window blinds.  

So I tried it out on my kitchen blinds and yes it works there as well.  Although if you haven’t cleaned your blinds in a long while your little micro-fiber cloth may get quite dirty and then you’ll just be smearing or moving dust and dirt around.  

 Thinking about it now I think this little vent cleaner might also work to clean the blades on my room ionizer as well.  I will have to wash it out and give it a try.  Over all I’m very pleased with this little brush and vent cleaner.  The perfect tool to get into those hard to reach places.

The bright vibrant color is what attracted me to these luggage tags. I'm glad they caught my attention because these tags are really neat. There are 6 in the package. The tag has a paper and a plastic insert inside for you to write your information on such as address, name, telephone number and email address in case the luggage gets lost or you need to identify the luggage. I especially like that all the personal information is hid underneath the metal tag and only your name shows through the slit. The little plastic portion goes over the paper part for added protection and both pieces have holes in them so once you loop the metal locking loop through it, it all stays in place. I like the cable loop mechanism. Nice and strong and sturdy. It has a twist lock type of mechanism which is really easy to use and twists down very tight. I absolutely love these tags.

Morganite Ring

I was browsing jewelry on Amazon when I came across this beauty.   I did have to wait almost two months for this ring to arrive and was getting quite anxious about it when my delivery date came and went.  But it finally arrived and the ring is just as beautiful in person as it appears in the picture.  I normally don’t like the rings with the fatter/wider bands but this one is not too wide and I have had this ring on my finger since it arrived. 

I did contact the seller a few days before my ring arrived to see where it might be at and they responded in an appropriate amount of time considering the different time zones.  In fact this is my second ring from this seller and so far I have not been disappointed in the quality of product.

The ring has 7 larger stones that are morganite and 14 smaller stones on the sides.

In light of what is happening in today’s world a little personal protection is a good thing.  So when I was offered the opportunity to review this one I jumped at the chance.  Although I did have to wait until I came back from vacation before I was fully able to look at it and investigate all of it’s different little facets.  Like the light feature, I thought I had to hold the button in for the light to work, nope just click it once and it’s on until you turn it off. 

  It has a nice little band on it that you can hold around 3-4 fingers while you’re walking to and from your car or just want it to be in your hands and ready for use.  It also has a nice key ring type attachment to it that you can easily hook onto your key ring or to a ring on the side of your purse.  That way it’s within reach but not cluttering up your hands.  

Then attached to this key ring attachment is the pin that goes into the device that when removed causes the alarm to go off.  While it is loud enough to cause a commotion when I tried it out no one rushed to my aid.  But this was on my own porch and in my own neighborhood.  To make the alarm quit alarming you simply put the pin back into place.  And you’re ready for the next time.  I like the extra layer of protection this device adds while I’m out and about. 

**Note:  I tested my alarm a second time during the day time and a neighbor rushed out to see what was going on.

SIAYI Reversible Cat Hammock Bed Waterproof Pet Hammock for Small Pets

I thought this would be a neat idea for my cats (4 of them, ranging from 5 months to 9 years old).  One thing to note right off the bat is what kind of chair you plan on using this under.  I definitely did not consider that when I bought this.  I tried this hammock in three different places.  My kitchen chairs the wooden kind with the bracing under the chair didn’t work because of the bracing.  

Although the kittens liked sitting in the hammock which sat on the floor.  Next I tried a t.v. tray.  Too narrow of the space. 

Then back to the kitchen chair but over the bracing.   The hammock fell through the bracing.

Next I tried a metal fold up chair.  I had to think outside the box on how to connect the hammock to the chair.   I was able to stretch out the straps to the connecting rings on the other side and stretch out the hammock.  

I hadn’t seen the kittens using it on this chair until tonight.  (The top picture).  Moulder is in it right now, napping, while I type up this review.   I thought I was going to have to move it back to the dining room table chair and they lounge on the floor.  But I guess I will leave it where it’s at for now.   I have included lots of pictures so you can see what has and has not worked for me.

Best Cookie Dough Scoop by SuperEze

I have always wanted a cookie dough scoop so when I received the opportunity to try one out I jumped at the chance.  (I think the family is enjoying all the cooking things I'm getting-because I have to try them all out, which means more baking desserts and food for them).  So in the midst of packing for vacation and all the other things I had to do my cookie scoop arrived.  I thought I would make oatmeal raisin cookies.  I hadn't made them in years and both men in the house love them.

So I whipped up a batch and commenced with the scooping. I initially wondered if I would have to grease the scoop or anything but that turned out not to be a problem.   My recipe actually said to use a teaspoon to scoop out the cookie dough onto the cookie sheet and the scoop definitely was bigger than a teaspoon.  But I went with it.  The dough came out of the scoop easy enough and to me I briefly wondered if the scoops of dough were too big.

But again I went with it.  They ended up spreading out just right and cooked in the amount of time suggested by the recipe which was 8-10 minutes.  As I was using the lever to release the dough from the scoop it felt a little odd, not a smooth release like you get with ice cream but kind of a bumpy feeling.  But all the dough came out of the scoop, easy as pie.  Over all I really like my little cookie dough scoop and am glad I bought it.

I really like these little twist ties.  Once I figured out they were twist ties and not zip strips I knew exactly what I was going to use them for.  I have lots of electronics around the house and I absolutely hate all the cords lying all over the floor.  I'm going to take these babies when I get home from vacation and round up every cord I see and twisty tie them up.  While on vacation though I thought I would try them out on my computer cord and love, love, that the cord is nicely wound up and not all over the floor tripping me up.  (Oh and I hope you enjoy my very first YouTube video).

Grill Cover

Well grilling season is almost over where I live and just the other day was discussing the need for a grill cover.  I must say I really like this one.  It was more than big enough to cover our grill which is one of the larger ones.  The grill cover has air vent/pockets in it so it can breathe.  The product description says the cover is water proof, ultraviolet proof and won’t crack in cold weather.  All those things will get a good testing in my state, but having just put the grill cover on it has yet to be very hot, raining or very cold.  There are two loops on the bottom on one side so that you can attach them to the legs of your grill and then there is a drawstring to pull the cover up tight around the bottom of your grill to keep the critters out.  The cover did come in a nice zipper bag so when we are ready to use the grill again next season the cover will have a nice place to go.

I love this dainty little necklace.    It is sterling silver.  It looks like a cross from a distance.  Only when you get close up to it do you notice that it is angel wings.  My mom said she thought it kind of resembled the medical emblem symbol.  The chain is not very long on it.  It is a little bit longer than choker length, but not long to dangle past your collar bone.  I like the size on it (the chain – I’m guessing it’s maybe 16-18 inch chain) but if it’s not long enough for you there are always necklace extenders that you can add to it or even put it on a longer chain.  The one thing that I did not like on the chain itself though was the ends of the chain where you connect it.  The hole is so small it’s like threading a needle.  You definitely will need help getting this necklace on.

This set of coasters comes 4 to a pack.   I immediately took two of them out of the package.  I set one on my table next to my computer and the other one next to my couch were I sit when I’m watching T.V.  I really like that the silicone coasters do not move once you put them in their spot.    So far every cup I’ve tried sits in the coasters.  What I don’t like though is that cold beverages that tend to sweat drip right into the coaster.  The glass then sticks to the coaster when you go to pick it up and the coaster comes too slinging the water droplets everywhere.  I have had coasters with cork in them do the same thing so I think this is a common occurrence for any type of coaster.  I ended up putting a paper towel on the coaster to soak up the wet, which to me defeats the purpose of the coaster.    But I guess the real purpose of a coaster is to keep your furniture from getting water damage.   And these coasters do that really well.

I bought this comb on a whim. I wanted to see if it would actually comb my hair which is rather long and thin. I was very surprised by how well it worked. It combed my hair with no problems. Usually the teeth on these type of combs come out but there was none of that with this one. It does have a small mirror attached and snaps tightly closed. It would make a nice travel comb or to carry in your purse for touch ups.
